Request Regarding Referral Letters

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is making efforts to promote patient-centered community healthcare by clarifying the division of roles according to the functions of medical institutions and by promoting cooperation between medical institutions. In keeping with these efforts, our hospital is further promoting mutual division of roles and cooperation through discussions with local medical associations and other organizations. For this reason, we ask all first-time patients to bring a letter of referral from their regular physician.

Patients with No Referral Letter

First-time patients are asked to bring a referral letter from a hospital, clinic, or other medical institution if at all possible. Please note that those who do not have a letter of referral will be charged a separate fee for medical care not covered by insurance (7,700 yen) for their first visit.

Additional Fee for Patients Without Referral for their first visit

This is a fee for expenses not covered by medical insurance charged separately from the first-time visit fees when a patient receives medical care for the first time at a regional medical care support hospital with 200 or more beds without a referral letter (medical information form). (Medical and dental services are handled separately.) Additionally, you will be required to pay if you had received medical care previously but had not continued treatment.

Patients not required to pay the Additional Fee for Patients Without Referral

  • Those with a referral letter (medical information form) from another medical institution. (Not including results of comprehensive medical examinations and health checkups)
  • Those receiving emergency care or other situations when a letter cannot be obtained (transported by ambulance, etc.)
  • Those receiving public subsidies for specific diseases or disabilities, etc.
  • Those eligible for medical aid under the Public Assistance Act *Medical and dental care are treated separately in terms of health insurance, so the Additional Fee for Patients Without Referral applies to both medical and dental care.

After-Hours Emergency Reception

Examination Hours

Emergency care is available outside of reception hours, at night, and on holidays. However, you will be treated by the doctor on call that day. Please note that the order in which patients are received may vary due to the state of the patient or the department where examination is taking place.

Issuance of Medical Certificates

Medical certificates are written and issued at a later date, after a medical specialist examines the patient during regular examination hours.

Request to Patients

Our hospital is a tertiary emergency medical care center. If a patient in a critical state is brought in, you may have to wait.
